You may well be right that/. readers get more than their fair share, and probably the majority of them are 'nice people'. But I read JonKatz's 'Please Die' thing about women (and others) getting put off by the ferocity and sheer hostility of certain posters and I thought 'nonsense! I can handle heated debate...' and then I went and looked at the discussion provoked by something (can't remember what) and just backed off big-style... A lot of it was seriously vicious and completely unnecessary. I don't mind swearing, that's not what I meant - it's the sheer violence that emanates from some people - just not something I could handle. It was cool that I _didn't_ get flamed for this, though!
*sigh* I expect I'm gonna get flamed for this... But I'm going to say it anyway! I'm a non-geek who thoroughly enjoys/. and learns new stuff almost every time she visits. Thanks and wishing you all good things for the future...
