  1. Re:Urban Transit on US Plans To Bulldoze 50 Shrinking Cities · · Score: 0

You do realize that there are good parts in most inner cities right? Look at DC. Most of Northwest is definitely city, but at the same time, is more or less safe to live in. Manhattan is another example. Fells point and federal hill are nice area's in baltimore.

City != violent crime. lack of wealth and opportunities = violent crime.

you remind me of people who are against public transportation, because it brings in the "bad element." Like going to a used car dealership and throwing down 100 dollars on a car is what is stopping from thugs and murderers from terrorizing the suburbs.

as a zen buddhist, I think that it better be able to make phone calls, or else it is a useless phone!

  3. as someone who practices Zen on Japan Launches 'Buddha Phone' · · Score: 0

I've been practicing Seon (a korean sect of Zen) for a number of years now, under Pohwa Sunim of the Joyge (could be spelling that wrong) order. Zen is all inclusive, including non-inclusive. That includes that phone :). The whole alter thing...meh. Even buddha said, basically, "hey, I'm just a guy who figured out how to live a happy life. Don't idolize me." Playing music with your phone to meditate to? Meh. Irrelevant. What is relevant, is what people hear with. One could say, "well people listen with their ears, you idiot zen guy!" and I would simply remind them that corpses have ears too, but they can't hear! Anyways, all in all it's kind of silly that it even exists, in my opinion.

  8. Laptops = Average User on Hardy Heron Making Linux Ready for the Masses? · · Score: 2, Insightful

I have a HP Pavilion laptop...fairly standard setup. Duo core, Geforce Go, broadcom wireless nic... On the latest version of Ubuntu, I couldn't even load into X because for whatever reason, Ubuntu didn't like my video card. I couldn't even get to the command prompt to download drivers, because whenever I would try it would freeze. I have never, not once, even with 10 hours or so of tinkering, been able to boot clean into ubuntu without video problems. The only Distro I HAVE been able to load into was OpenSuse 10.3. However, After hours with ndiswrapper, and pulling my hair out, I couldn't get the wireless drivers to work, and on top of that, I couldn't hook my laptop to an external monitor. Until Linux can run on laptops with minimal fuss, It won't catch on. There is no way.

  10. Better hardware support.. on How Would You Refocus Linux Development? · · Score: 2, Interesting

Better laptop support. I've tried three different distributions on my new Pavillion Laptop, and not one has worked without massive tweaking and command line editing...not exactly a great incentive to switch.

    Better wireless support...

actually you know what? Better hardware support all around. Make it as easy as Windows to set up. also a universal install file (like .exe on windows)

I remember reading about this a while back, and have found some links (at the bottom), that says that when particles are entangled, that their state can be transferred faster then the speed of light. Doesn't help much to end AIDS, but meh, at least We know what state the virus' particles are in. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=76 2100
