After working debt collections USING a robo-dialer .. (you know the one that calls and goes "press 4 to speak to a rep" then slaps you on hold for an hour) - I can say that we collected on debts with less proof, sign up a collections agency and send em to work .

I think people defiantly compare flight time to, say, taking a train or car. But do customers really care that much about flight time? it's not like that's a big selling point when you chose your flight.

If your flight from new york to LA took an extra half hour and cost 30% less, i don't think anybody would complain

    - yes Adamantly YES. - claustrophobic people, people whom get airsick , people whom dislike flying, Smokers- YES we DO care about how long we're locked in that flying brick, i'd honestly pay 30% more for 30% less time locked in there (im a smoker, i get airsick and i generally don't like flying) It already takes me 2 hours to get thru the airport, drink 3-4 drinks at the bar so im actually willing to get on the plane, and then add 45 minutes if i need to hunt down the only smoking lounge in an airport (like denver or atlanta) , then add the hour or two after we land to locate my baggage and get out. 30% flight time longer, sure , knockout the security lines, and let me smoke in flight , and i dont care if it takes a week, but currently No way no how, i already drive if its less than 800 miles because its plain cheaper, more comfortable, no GED-equipped minimum wage TSA agent goin thru my underwear, and almost as fast (12 hour drive time or 4 hours in the airports and 3 in the air).

OpenArena, Warzone 2100, Urquan Masters, and Frozen Bubble should top your list of Linux games. Also check out Urban Terror, it is a close analog of CounterStrike.

The Wesnoth game I have never played, but am going to check it out right now

Urban terror - YES YES yes YES YES YES Ive been playing this game since pre-beta on the mac , and its awesome , its a ET powered Counterstrike style game , But faster paced, plays well on hardware back to g4s and on intel machine with integrated graphics cards fairly well. And it isnt your typical graphics game .. this one is GOOD.

  5. Buy an old one. I second or third the "USED HP 4" on Choosing a Personal Printer For the Long Haul · · Score: 1

? 10k pages? you're joking- it better see 2-5k pages on a toner cart, and if it only last for 2 carts yer nuts. - Most laser printers ive serviced over the years (HP engined Apple Laser printers) had well into the 3-400k pages before they gave up the ghost. My current printer is an old Apple laser 16/600 office laser printer (its a rebranded Hp 4xxx engine) - its at 394k pages currently - so im starting to look for a new one myself. Other than needing to dig up an old mac running OS9 to set up the TCP/IP printing (since snow leopard killed appletalk) its been running strong for 15 YEARS. Currently im not liking any of the printer offerings on the market , i'lll probably buy an older HP 4050 when my Laserwriter dies and transplant the engine. Hp still makes great hardware, and if you dont mind investing in their PostScript networked offerings you're OK, but avoid ANYTHING that uses their printing Software. Lexmark makes lots of Very compatible laser printers, but their hardware sucks. The Oki LED printers have made a big splash with me recently- but with only seeing them commonly for the last 5 years or so .. who knows about longevity. Dont get me started on the comedy of inkjet printers these days.

  6. Re:More social networking features... on Looking Into Mozilla's Financial Success · · Score: 1

They could call it... Mozilla Navigator... Ummm... it was called navigator, then Mozilla Suite, now its SeaMonkey http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/ I still have Firefox and Thunderbird , and sunbird installed. but long ago SeaMonkey replaced them in day-to day use. Its a Few version Numbers behind Ffx and T-Bird, but the plugins all work (including the Sunbird calender plug-in), and its day-to day reliable. Just like the old Netscape Package, it has: A Browser "Navigator"(ffx core) EMail "Mail & Newsgroups"(T-Bird), You can install the SunBird Plug-in(Calender), has a shared Address Book, It has "Composer" which is a nice simple Html builder (With Firefox preview built in). Itupdates more often than firefox (since they're behind i guess?) but all in all its F'n awesome. When I need to toss a fast table w/ pictures and captions onto my blog or work pages, Composer does the job admirably. And since its just a plug-in , its MUCH faster then hauling out DreamweaverMX for simple things. Hoop
