Browsers have gotten to Acid 2 compliant or closer. I would call this the current Web 2.0.

    Web 3.0 = http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid3/
The Web Standards Project, seeing that the web is on the Web 2.0 level, is pushing the envelope again for Acid 3, or what I would call Web 3.0. It is interesting to note, that it took 6 months after Acid 2 came out for Safari to get it's browser compliant. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid2 ) This is applying to the display of content, but I feel this also collates to phases of the web. And yes, I cited Wikipedia for my source, I hope that 1% edited that entry to make sure it is completly correct, although I do know from news articles I can't find that the safari part is.

That is why you have two encrypeted files. One you give them the password to and it is some, *GASP* reveling photo's completly legal, but you don't want people looking at. Are they going to check the byte valus of the data verifing that you gave them ALL of the encrypted stuff? I understand with new encryption software it will prompt for a password, if A is given you get A results, if B is given you get B results. Just set up so that they see A as said above stuff to be encrypted, but not jailed over.

#4 brings up an interesting thread of discussion that has been going on through the podcasts that I listen to. If in fact there is such a thing as intellectual property, than does it not receive the same rights as concrete property? Ok, so yes there is intellectual property, and it receives the same rights, i.e. someone can't steal it? Great, that is just what I wanted you to say, because if it has the same rights, doesn't it have the same taxes possed by the goverment to keep said property? But wait, I don't want to pay taxes on something that is in my mind! But you want to keep it from everyone else? You don't have to apply for a copyright for material if you don't care if others use it, that is done all the time. So don't tax those who don't wish to copyright, I'm sure people will still donate money to you if they like your intellectual property enough anyway. If you do apply for a copyright and don't want people to take your stuff, you should pay a tax on that as long as you hold the copyright. Copyrighted material will fall into the public domain a lot faster, and become free a lot sooner. Would this solve the problem? Maybe, and yet it might just cause the end user to pay more money. Just an interesting discussion that I have been hearing about.

WHAT!!! Ah, does that mean that Bill Gates stole that marketing practice from Mac as well? I couldn't find the link in my hurry, but note an article about 2 day's old about Microsoft encouraging piracy, and Bill himself saying as such a while ago. Guess they stole that from Mac as well, get them young and they will come; and pay.

All I was saying is that I didn't have problems with activation, which is what the top of this thread was about. I never said Vista was the best, I had to get a new virus protection, as most don't run on it, I have had to get a new DSL Modem to support Vista, but I had ABSOLUTELY NO ACTIVATION PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't swear at me if you don't understand what I said, and yes I was being funny at the end, I told you NOT to get Vista unless you were running DOS or i.e. Win 95. If you buy a new computer, I would highly recommend even with the minor problems I have had.

I didn't have to install Windows Vista; well kinda. When turned on for the first time out of the box it prompted for some various items and than went. No problems at all. I personally don't see why you would spend the money to upgrade the system unless you are in the dark ages of computer OS anyway.

This is interesting. How much do we all use YouTube. With computers the way that they are, we all can take video from the TV and make it what we want on the web. Computers have made it so Intellectual property as such is changeling. I guess I don't have a problem with an industry not making a lot of money over things that we could all make. The difference will come down to quality not quantity finally. I have thought that Hollywood was "Making another one!" Think about it, how many teen movies, or scary movies have there? Another teen movie, epic movie? Do we really need another? Yes it does supply mild entertainment, but we are smart enough to entertain ourselves. We have been given the tools and the masses say they like them. If you read the article Viacom is the only one who wants to sue. Not sure where copy rights are going, but they are changing. All thanks to a little thing called computers. IMHO reality TV was the first step. Once the people at the big business learned they could make millions on a few people and only pay one of them; Survivor; that was the breaking of the dam. It is a small wonder that we the people have done the opposite of them.
