If we accept that increased levels of atmospheric CO2 cause increases in global temperature, then start monitoring the levels of global atmospheric CO2.
My suspicion is that we won't see any notable increase in atmospheric CO2 because the rains and snows wash the CO2 out of the air. What we do know is we are experiencing acid rain and when CO2 is washed from the air in rain, the rain becomes slightly acidic as carbonic acid.
It would be interesting to know the atmospheric methane concentration for the past couple hundred years and its ebb and flow.
