Both FreeBSD and NetBSD have been trying to get ARM releases out for a while. Neither is ready for Prime Time, but they're getting closer.
I wish FreeBSD had gotten the armv7 architecture stuff into this release as a supported arch.
I do have some early RPi boards, but also have (for anything serious) some RPi 2 B + whatever boards. And without the new boot code, they are useless for FBSD. Should be in the release, even with whatever warnings and caveats are needed.
NetBSD has a not-really-release that supports the multi-core Pis.
