Every time a doctor prescribes antibiotics when they are not needed, this contributes to the problem of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. If the patient thinks he/she knows more than his/her doctor, he/she can go to medical school, get a license, and prescribe anything he/she damn well wants (like cocaine) for himself/herself.
It seems the moderation is often applied in a relative manner. Some stories just don't get any good comments, whereas others get quite a few. The system is really more useful this way instead of all the posts being 0s and 1s, even if they deserve it. You can just moderate all the post down in your mind, if you must.
Certainly I concede that science teachers often do not keep up on new information, but 109 elements are plenty. Even some of these aren't important, especially the ones named after people. And places. And the ones with names that are just the number in latin or something. A lot of the planet ones are superfluous, except when you're making nukes.
Here's how I see it: physics is the physical manifestation of math chemistry is a subset of physics biology is a subset of chemistry behavioral science is a subset of biology psychology is a subset of behavioral science mathematics is a product of the human mind
No, the guy in the cage is shielded by the metal; however, I am wondering about the ozone? The thing must produce a lot of ozone -- Mightn't he need a respirator?
C'mon... The AC is saving lots of people a little trouble. He/she posted it as a link to be helpful, not like some people who post something that's already been said just for the hell of it...
if (sic) you dont want your privacy "violated" then dont (sic) browse the net, shop, venture outside your house or pretty much anything. Well, maybe online violations of privacy do not yet warrant this kind of extremism, But it is nice for us to know when are actions are being monitored. Nobody likes being spied on, online or otherwise. As long as we know what's going on, and as long as there are options that preserve our privacy, we should use them instead and be happy.
So I guess it was time for the athiests to have a crack at this persecution thing. Of course, teaching that God does not exist isn't persecution -- it's science. As an athiest, I mean this in a quite sincere way.
I thought it was quite good and wonderfully zany. I would not, however, say most people overreact; it's not like the evils of Christianity are new to them...
> So, you have gross abuse of power by atheists (think Stalin), including abuse of Christians. - - You can't classify all athiests as one group. Being an athiest does not mean sharing the beliefs of Stalin, or any other athiest, for that matter. There are no athiest "holy texts". Athiesm has no dogmas -- athiest beliefs are entirely personal, and one athiest may be entirely different from another. The only thing we share is lack of a belief in god. Attributing Stalin's misdeeds to athiests in general is like attributing the radical beliefs of white supremacist groups and crazy fundie zealots to Christianity in general -- ridiculous! -
Persecuted, you say? Christians are neither persecuted nor oppressed in this part of the world. By declaring yourselves victims, you do a great disrespect to those who are (or were) actually persecuted due to their religious beliefs; the Jews in WWII (actually, throughout most of history), the pagans, and (dare I say) the athiests. Btw, Your religion has started more wars and claimed more lives than any other in the name of your god. Your "bullshit" proves nothing except that you are a nincompoop.
Think that's bad? Check out Stormfront.org for Kids. Scary shit.
Show me where Stalin is buried and I'll show you a communist plot.

Why the hell can't I put line breaks in my message?

I got mine at Fry's.

Why would they collect the information if they couldn't use it profitably? Besides, it's the principle of the thing.

Geez... now he's got bad karma just because he corrected himself...
This has got to be some sort of record!
HI.

It's not the athiests, it's the damn commies...
