Can't say I've noticed many features in FF Windows builds that isn't in Linux builds
(I run pretty much an identical Firefox setup on my home Linux Desktop and my work Laptop in terms of versions, themes and extensions)
Not sure about optimisation work however, but each time Windows users have reported speed increases or better memory handling in new Firefox versions, I've noticed it in the Linux builds, so while the performance may not be as good in Windows, I think it is bit much to infer there isn't being any work done.
It does actually "Up until this point, all of our user IDs have been small enough that 32 bits is sufficient to store them all. In the not-so-distant future, we will begin using 64 bit object IDs in some places. So, the numbers will become to big to handle in some situations"
The wording is actually pretty shocking so it could well be that the userid's are being made 64 bit but comments etc. are, or it could be they are making userid's 64 bit also.
Just out of interest, do Slashdot editors have the ability to can duplicate stories after they are put up or close them in some way?
It seems rather stupid to have a clear duplicate and still have comments split between two or more stories...
