Actually we got one so my mom could use it to do her translations on. Whatever the reason was, I was thrilled, we got a BBC B with 2 disk drives (40 tracks and 80 tracks!), a daisy wheel printer (talk about noisy). Eventually got things such as C, pascal. An awesome machine, cost me many many sleepless nights. My school also got these, the teachers had no clue whatsoever. Later my school even bought some Electrons, but the BBC computer owners never really considered these the real thing.
