The new european law isn't just about paying a tax on CDs. The Belgian police announced today that they had the details of 12000 Napster users and some of then would be recieving a visit from the police very soon. According to the police, since these users have broken the law, they have no right to privacy on the internet.
Given the incompetance of the Belgian police and legal system there's a good chance there won't be any convictions. Still, it's pretty crazy to live a country where smoking a joint is legal, but listening to music isn't.
