I agree, I commute between central NJ and NYC right now and I refuse to the train because its very slow. I take the bus which takes exactly the same amount of time for less. There are many express right now between major NJ cities to NYC, upgrading those routes to a high-speed rail would be fantastic.
Additionally NYCBoston would greatly benefit as many people commute between the two cities and traveling by air is inefficient and many times it takes longer.
The LSE going down is a big deal. The US exchanges have been trying very hard to displace LSE's strong hold in the EUROPEAN markets. With the merger of NYSE/Euronext and NASDAQ/OMX this cuts market share and faith in LSE as everyday passes. Additionally with continued tech issues, NASDAQ could reinvigorate their bid for LSE again! I work for a data major data vendor, and I know from experience the NYSE and NASDAQ are much more reliable than their European counterparts. Also LSE going down today is huge, considering the news on Fannie/Freddie, WAMU, Lehman, and the WRONG news on United Airlines. Many arbitrage opportunities were lost for LSE traders.
I bought the 2nd generation 4gb nano 10 days ago for $199.00, unfortunately I got it engraved! I was kind of pissed off to learn that the new nano's are better; does anybody have any suggestions on returning my current nano and getting the new one? thanks.
My firm doesn't have less then 2 monitors per user, I particularly have 4 monitors, and it DEFINITELY increases my productivity. I had to switch to 2 monitors temporarily and I had a significant decrease in my ability to multi-task and even efficiently complete my normal tasks. Energy costs and desk spaces are inconsequential; average industry desk space should be able to accommodate to at least 2 monitors, and using multiply flat panels not only uses less energy than a single CRT but also is better for the eyes. Of course making a case for multiple monitor support you will have to prove that it is necessary time and time again.

Its just GSM based phones, the RF distortion is not an issue with CDMA based phones.
