I agree that Captain America being dead does make him more popular in the present then "alive". But I also think that if they made the government the main one responsible for his death then it would just be like oh Marvel is being TOO anti-patriotic I will not buy this issue because it may conflict with my prior belief...
I think that you are onto something it is both. If you add the Red Skull as the one responsible you get people like us debating,
"oh is it really about the government!"
"No its just the Red Skull!"..
Either way if its a cash grab its a good one in the sense that if you like it or hate it, its bound to have people talking about it and comparing it to real life as well as someone perhaps ever buying the issue to see what all the hub-bub is about...
No sorry I really do have some severe social anxiety and its hard for me to even walk down the street because I'm afraid of people walking by me, what im going to do am i supposed to look them in the face as they pass me or look away. Most people I talk to say they just don't care but I keep not being able to think about it no matter what so I almost always notice unless im in a crowd/city then its easier because there are to many people to pay attention too.
It is really hard for me to take photographs or video in public for fear of someone telling me they don't want me to film them, or some employee at Starbucks or whatever telling me I can't film in their establishment for fear of being wrong them being right and me not knowing my absolute "rights" as an amateur photographer.
I have Social Anxiety Disorder. It is already hard enough for me to go outside and be with people and not think that they might be looking at me the wrong way or if its even ok for me to take a picture without their consent in a public place. I am still very unsure on the exact specific laws as it comes to you can take a picture of a building ok but if you catch someone in that building in the picture thats not ok and ack...
Anyway my point is this is going to make it even harder for me to go outside and take pictures for fear of people thinking I'm a terrorist. I realize that they are not INTENDED for amateur filmmakers or photographers but I really don't like the government making it harder for my already socially anxious ways to justify not even going outside because I'm afraid someone will think that im taking a picture of a certain person or a building in a way they don't like because THEY are scared.
I also like to create maps for Half-Life and sometimes pictures help me with building architecture in game. Laws like this just encourage other city's to create similar laws and I would just like to know when will it end?
Doesn't the RIAA know this is actually hurting them? Are they trying to use reverse psychology? Because these are some of the only results of their "work" i see:
People that spend their entire lives paying back massive debt for a couple of downloaded cd's, or were unjustly targeted or were about to win a case against the RIAA and they withdrew the charges/left the case before it was ruled and the person had to pay lots of legal fees.
Waste of thousands (millions?) of tax payer dollars.
Reduction in positive public view of RIAA.
Could someone please explain the logic of the RIAA to me? It seems from my angle that they are shooting themselves in the foot losing way more money over this then simply lowering their prices of the music to compete with the internet.
Gabe essentially says that what we are playing now (Episodes 1, 2 and 3) IS Half-Life 3.
"Probably a better name for it [Half-Life 2: Episode One] would have been Half Life 3: Episode One, but these three are what we're doing as our way of taking the next step forward, but Half-Life 2 was the name we used," said Newell.
And yes I too would love, oh love so much for the game to be out tomarrow or yesterday. But when I look back on how much I so badly wanted Half-Life 2 and when it came out I was personally very satisfied. Sure at the end I was like WHAT thats it I want more! But isn't that the goal of any artist/game maker/music maker/tv producer? For the consumer to like your product so much that they just can't wait until next weeks episode? I really, really, really also want Episode 2 to come out today. Its easy for me to self delude myself sometimes because I live 5 miles away from Valve head office its hard for me to even fathom that the game I and people all over the world want is 5 miles away form me.
But wouldn't you rather it take a little bit longer just so they get things right? Just so the game isn't hurried out the door with major bugs, flaws and loss of content because they felt so pressured from their fans to just hurry the game up and gold it? Sure they may have made a mistake on making it episodic and sure they are way off on their estimates. But I would personally take waiting 1.5 years for 1/3 of a game then waiting another 5 years for 20 hours of game play. But maybe thats just me.
If you have Half-Life 2 then you can play the Exite Mod which has a "Portal Gun" and you open portals just like in Portal. I am pretty sure its legit because its been up for months if not a year now and its really fun!

Only downside is sometimes on my computer I fall through the floor forever falling into the void or it crash's. But most of the time it runs great!
What happens if you need to call 911 because of an emergency like you broke your leg or worse? While email isn't 911 it does seem to me that it more and more can and will be used when either the person is unable to use a phone or otherwise does not want to/can't reach the person any other way.
The idea to pay a free email service extra to make SURE your mail gets to where it's going seems great but isn't this a silppery slope? Do we really want to start making extra paying people's mail a higher priority then others? "Oh im sorry sir that you missed your child's recital because the email notifying you about it couldn't be bothered to be fished out of the spam folder because X Y and Z clients already payed their "my mail is more important" stipend and we need to be priority to THERE mail." Are we just seeing the slow phase-out of freemail in the longrun?
Doesn't the very act of announceing to the public a possible percentage alter the very percentage that she has given by putting a new factor into her equations by annoinceing the possible outcome?
So if its a fact that 2.4 GHz radiation is harmful what is the risk then? What I don't understand is that if what other posters say is true and its basically the same as the cellphone hasn't the research been done on this for years? I mean we've had cellphones for what 20 years and people are still screaming my cellphone COULD give me cancer?
I have panic attacks about stupid things and I just realized our wireless hub is right underneath this desk and I've been sitting here 5 out of 7 days of the week for the past 9 months should I be worried that I'm going to get testicular cancer or that the Wireless Router will fry my testes like 2 eggs in a frying pan? I still try to keep all my cellphone calls short and even sometimes keep the thing aw away from my head as I can without looking like a total dork and hearing the person.
I know statistically that I have a better chance of dieing millions of other ways but how can I trust technology's like these if supposed expert scientists keep coming out every couple of months and saying: Wait we got it all wrong you ARE kill yourselves with cellphones and Wifi!
I mean every conspiracy theory has a grain of truth in it how do you separate the irrational fear, from the media hype, from the die hard conspiracy theorist that KNOWS they are right, from supposed "solid" scientific research? I mean not ALL conspiracy's are wrong every one in a blue moon turns out to be right doesn't it?
Although this seems like a good idea to check for security holes, one has to wonder if there were a more devious plan behind it or as an added bonus. Couldn't this conceivably be a way to trap people trying to break in under some sort of international law?
