Who's to say that this element, that's not stable on our planet, be stable on another planet? We know there are more elements but that haven't lasted long enough for us to classify them as elements. I'm sure somewhere in the universe they exist in nature.
I really hope you guys know that we (meaning the US) hung Saddam. He was tried in Iraq by Iraqi's. They believed the punishment for his crimes was hanging. Sooooo i dont believe the US really had anything to do with it (besides the capture and all).
I've spoken to some people that were at Fallujah. I guess everyone sees it differently, but they saw it as a massacre. Over 1300 "insurgents" dead, less than 100 Americans.
That's may be accurate but the way the US military works requires that outcome. When a squad or platoon is engaged in a firefight, the ratio of American troops to enemy troops is suppose to be 3:1. This varies depending on how well the enemy is fortified and what not.
Another reason why this really needs to happen is purely economical. It cost hundreds of thousands to train us and losing even one soldier is both awful but expensive whereas the enemy just indoctrinates their young to kill Americans.
This kill to death ratio isn't uncommon because in Vietnam it was around 10:1 for regular line units and 200:1 for SF guys. The US military is not built to take extreme loses and the training and tactics show that.
In fact, I suggest everyone look to west. In California[...]
Your saying we should look at California for our energy problems!!? I'm sure they have enough problems of their own (not all Enron's fault).
The only way anything will get done is a solid leadership up top of a corporate company. Obviously that's very hard to come by with all the greed that comes with the position. Eventually it will happen if the voters/stockholders change it.
There's only one requirement to win the Noble Prize; you have to answer the phone when they call you to tell you that you have won. Even if you answer the phone with your last dieing breath you can win it.
I understand that we dont want frogs to die off in that region but why mess with nature. If we vaccinate these frogs and there numbers swell; what are those consequences going to be? Im sure that the frogs will adapt to the environment and overcome.
Were not the only nation with satellites in space. Whats to stop other countries from doing this first then the US is at a disadvantage.
Were still here because other countries are afraid of the Military power we have. This would just make countries more reluctant to attack.
