  1. Can m$ make _working_ products anymore????? on Windows Vista SP1 Meeting Sour Reception In Places · · Score: -1, Troll

It seems that their products are complelty unstable and useless, and are outragously expensive for what they are... crapware :)

It seems m$'s problem is ALL THEY CARE ABOUT NOW IS $$$, not the quality or stability of their products.

Windows XP: Okay. Although I found Linux to be much better, at least XP was usable. Only 2 versions.

Windows Vista: Outragously expensive with 6 DAMN VERSIONS, all of them give you the same shitty operating system. Constant nag screens, Cancel/Allow dialogs, horrible performance for gaming and media playback (Any games older than 2005 screw up on my system with my new nVidia 8600GT graphics card)... it goes on and on.

And it's not just OSes. Even their games suck.

Xbox: Good system, doesn't blow up, 1 version, good online play, best system on the market in it's time

Xbox 360: Horrible system, huge risk of blowing it up and getting an RRoD, 4-6 DAMN VERSIONS (notice the trend here, we go from 1 to 4 versions of the Xbox 360, and 2 to 6 versions of Windows Vista), now useless HD-DVD, outragously pathetic attempts to rip off the consumers ($50 a year just to play games online with Xbox Live, $10 DLC thats FREE on the PC and PS3), targeted at kids so they don't understand they're being scammed.

Halo 3: Overhyped, mediocre, 3 DAMN VERSIONS (again, notice the trend with versions and editions), low quality, rushed just to make $$$, $10 DLC every few months (3 damn maps for $10, what a ripoff), aimed at kids because of how much of a ripoff it is, etc.

Notice the trend here? Over capitalism, a complete loss of quality and performance, and they just rip you off.

m$ is going down soon. Like every company, they can't last forever.

So stories could be censored if they made serious implications or accusations, or were negitive to a specofic person.

Suddenly, we have the Internet. Now we are all free! Anyone can be a journalist, and you don't have to fear being censored or prosecuted. No one can censor a story.

  11. Don't use MySpace! on Man-in-the-Middle Attack on MySpace with Cain · · Score: 5, Insightful

MySpace is notoriously insecure and a hacker or spammer's playground. The first thing I noticed when I created an account 10 months ago is that there was no HTTPS logon. Even Facebook has that!

But even if they were to use HTTPS, that still wouldn't solve MySpace's issues. A lot of the people on my Friends List were not very tech savvy (like a lot of users), and, since most of them were teens, they easily fell for phishing scams and hacks. And then I get punished for their poor security practices by having my message board filled with ads for the "free, HoTtEsT ringtones!!!!" and "see girls naked!!!!" (btw all of those sites had viruses or malware on them). I stopped using MySpace after 2 months, I got tired of all the insecurity.

If I were to run this attack on the computers at my high school, I could cripple a lot of kid's social lives (and get expelled when the admins see :) I see SO many of my classmates using proxies to get on MySpace at school (even though it's against school rules, which I don't blame after seeing some of my classmate's MySpace pages). They just don't understand how easily I could get their password (or whoevers running the proxy, or even the admins). And it's worse when you wonder how many kids use the same user name and password for everything...

Kids these days are just not educated enough on good security practices, or show a lack of common sense with this stuff...

So I called up the Verizon office and asked if I could get it. They said no, and gave me a strange reason. So I called again a month later, and they gave me a different reason. Finally, I talked to some people, and it seems my aunt lives close enough to Verizon, but my house, just a few houses away, is "too far away" from the Verizon central offices.

I waited 6 months and called again. Nope! They told me they expect us to be ready to hook up in about 3-6 months, and we shuold get Comcast while we wait (that's right, the Verizon people recommended Comcast, a competitor, while we wait), so we got Comcast. It has been 20 months since that, STILL NO VERIZON INTERNET!

I have lost hope, and am not even bothering asking anymore. Any ISP that has the nerve to SEND ME ADS FOR THEIR INTERNET IN THE MAIL even though I can't even get the damn service is not worth paying. I love The Simpsons, but it is HARDLY ON anymore because stupid Fox feels the best show on their network should take back seat to a cheap ripoff show. I get 2 Fox channels, one from RI and one from MA. On the RI channel, the new lineup is: 6:30 and 7:30 Family Guy, and 1 Simpsons episode. Wtf??? It's a good thing I don't live in RI, then that would be my only option...

Fox is getting desperate to put out anything not reality related, the Terminator show is a golden example. They ran out of ideas, so they just copied from a dumb 90s movie!

What will they blame this on? Since they have already used "a ship dropped it's anchor on the wire" for the Middle East Internet blackout, so here's some good excuses for our classic government:

    • "Our technician split coffee on the launch computer during the 3 second countdown"
    • "All these damn satellites all look the same, we just picked the wrong one"
    • "The launch computer ran Windows"
    • "It's not our fault, China launched that missile!!!!!!!"

    • "We forgot to mention that there were 2 broken satellites. Don't mind the Chinese symbols all over the other one"
    • "The RIAA and MPAA told us the second satellite was owned by The Pirate Bay"

Or some ways to cover the whole thing up:
