If the proposal is, indeed, a "fairer" way to charge stations I don't see any indication that the RIAA would be interested in accepting the notion. "Fair" or "reasonable" doesn't seem to be part of how they operate.
True - but if you want to use it as an online storage medium it still costs $99 whether you use all that other stuff or not (which I did not). Also, I did not find it very "love-able"... having the iDisk enabled significantly slowed down my Open/Save dialog boxes from many programs (requiring strange workarounds to remedy).
I gave it up for an rsync account which I find more pleasing to the touch.
Apple's.Mac gives you 10GB for $99 per year -- and I think there are quite a few people who have signed on (mostly because it says "Mac" somewhere in the URL) despite the high price and poor service (IMO). I think the same will happen with Google (with or without the poor service).

I used my uninstall button with Windows a long time ago. No problems since then.
