There seems to be a lot of confusion about Credit Freeze. Many states do offer it for free.
http://www.creditlock.com/ has organized credit freeze relevant information, fees, procedures, etc... in a very convenient system, initiated through an interactive map. It is complimentary to members, and membership is negligeable. Hopefully, if a federal law is ultimately passed, all such requirements will be streamlined....
