Years ago I had to buy MS Office Pro for Access. I bought the upgrade accidentally. I then saw the requirements for the upgrade, DOS and Wordperfect were list along with others. Well, when I went to install it, I got the upgrade error.. But they give you an option to point to a different drive to scan for licenses. When I pointed it back to the CD-Drive it ran the full install.
You forgot to mention tape recorders and VCR's.. Before napster, these inventions were to end all paid programming just like ufo's took all the dinosaurs away... I saw that on quality programming brought to you by...
There is always a way to do something. And since television can't mesmorize you/me with half a$$ off budget shows, we will make them spend their hard earned money to battle the consumers paying for it. Is this like the food chain. hmmmmm... I'm not a business major, but how do you make money doing that??? Oh... I see. Another reason why we are behind.

They made a deal with Micro$haft to port M$Paint. I actually have a 20" iMac coming today. (Oh great..)
Just a thought but could the Google OS be their online site.. Spreadsheets, word processing... I'm sure eventually even a crude graphics maniplator
