I got the update box 5 minutes into the install of Vista SP1. I haven't got a clue how it opened! I didn't even have any apple software running at the time. I had stopped the iPod services before updating to SP1 too.
Dirty trick. I can't see how it was a coincidence it prompted me to 'upgrade' Safari while I was preoccupied with a service pack update.
It wouldn't be so bad if their applications didn't look so stupid amongst a completely different UI.
Japan always seems to be a glimpse of the future with things like this.
I cannot see Microsoft being around for much longer - certainly not in the way they are now.
