And regular DVD should be good enough for those types. I would say a majority of Slashdotters don't/shouldn't care about which format will win as we are currently using shady means to download hidef movies until these morons wise up in Hollywood and offer a cheap, legal alternative.
The $100 price cut wasn't making me buy and the $600 version with game included (BFD) won't either. I'll be too busy flapping my arms around in front of my TV playing Wii.

I agree. Who came up with these rules for conducting an interview anyway? A journalist? I don't even think its any kind of an honorable profession anymore.
Well as the blue laser diodes are costing them less a price drop may not increase or decrease operating loss per unit but it may increase numbers sold. I know I am sitting on the fence with all the "journalists" speculating on price drops. I would hate to buy one now to have it be $100 less by the end of the year.
