Google refuses to play their little game so the "government" is always at their heels. Microsoft started sucking up to government a long time ago to make money. They now have a lot of pull because of this in Washington whereas Google has no political power--and it seems like they want to keep it that way. Yeah, I'm a Google fan boy, and I will be until they start playing the game. Maybe they want to track their user behavior, but the obvious treatment they receive from our Washington overlords makes it clear to me that they are not doing it for any overtly nefarious reason. I just wish Google would pull their head out of their ass and focus on core competencies. They need to prioritize and capitalize on the goodwill they have with users.

Sometimes "natural" monopolies are protected by the government when, in theory, competition will raise prices. I know, I know, didn't make much sense to me either. This got started with electric and phone lines a long time ago in the US--where it didn't make sense to have each company running lines to the home (hence, one set of lines equals "natural" monopoly). People are getting a good deal with DSL service because the lines are "deregulated," meaning that anyone can use the lines to provide a service (phone, internet)--there is no longer monopoly control of the lines. Radio tower and cable infrastructure is still privately held, for now. Cable AND radio towers need "deregulated" as well.

Good advice. If you want decent stuff shop directors, producers, and writers. Sometimes you can determine quality from an actor because they discriminate on what they will do based on the writing, but this is not a sure thing with most actors. A bad story or hastily written screenplay is always a disastrous waste of time.

Because that is the nature of the beast. If you are not willing to move on and get another job, don't whine to everyone else about it. Maybe they will see the light when a bunch of employees gain new skills and leave with projects half finished. You see, that doesn't happen because employees are lazy. If the company needs a better skill-set they make a phone call or ask you to do it for them.

When I was but a young lad I had a World Book set that I couldn't keep my nose out of. I had it for years, and at about the fifth grade I was carrying one with me everywhere I went. At 8 years old I was the only one in the house who maintained the set by keeping it alphabetically ordered and put away. Got my first TRS-80 at that age as well (1987). We were poor but my grandparents had their own business and always bought me books and handed down computers to me. Good memories. Computers and books led to me leaving school after 8th grade.

They do not follow Jesus, they worship Paul. Talk about Jesus, listen to Paul. Paul gives power to the church. Jesus said the church is you. I like to use Jesus quotes, and when a Christian commends me and strikes up a conversation I let on how all the quotes attributed to Jesus are just much older oriental proverbs attributed to Jesus in the Gospel. Good Fun.
