  1. Nothing may never have been on Mathematical Proof That the Cosmos Could Have Formed Spontaneously From Nothing · · Score: 1

Maybe nothing in the philosophical sense never was. Perhaps there was always something but that something was what gave rise to the quantum fluctuation. And, perhaps, that something was not a god after all but just the quantum vacuum. The philosophical nothing may be entirely imaginary. I don't know seems to be the best I can come up with on such matters.

This idea of everyone needs to vote is bunk. If someone is not willing to put the time in to research the candidates then it is a responsible thing, in this case, to not vote. We have too many sheep out there who vote demo or repub because that's their party and we want the other party to lose after all. This isn't some damn sports game. Neither candidate is of any value in my researched opinion because neither addresses the issue with government which is spending and its pervasiveness. The problem is not the government's revenue it is the overspending that is at issue. Most of what you hear from either of them is what they can do for me; how they can make my life easier.

  3. NY taxes on Newegg Defies New York Sales Tax Law · · Score: 5, Interesting

I live in upstate NY as well and I see the tremendous issues NY has with attracting good paying jobs. NY is unable to attract new business' therefore they look to supplement their revenue by taxing the business' they can't attract here even if said business has no physical presence in the state. NY government has this view that they are entitled to a piece of the action. They are not. If they can't attract the business here they lose and should lose. The NY government is what is getting in the way of business' coming into NY and entrepreneurs starting new business'. I'm afraid you will see more of what Overstock did and thus hurt the NY economy even more. We in NY have politicians completely out of touch with the reality of the business world.

I find it amazing that when a government raises taxes they think the rich will pay it. The rich will just raise the cost of the goods they are selling accordingly in most cases.

  4. Re:Everyone calm down... on Senator Warns of Email Tax This Fall · · Score: 1

This whole idea in government of how can we get the money due us is just patently ridiculous. We create a new tax to make up for a shortfall in another tax due to the changing business environment. Shouldn't state governments be looking at ways to attract these new internet businesses to their states thus increasing their tax base instead of these quick ill-conceived band-aids that end up doing more harm to the local economy than good. Where is the forethought; ohh that's right we are talking about government bureaucracies and all the little kingdom builders that create them.

It is absolutely inconceivable how many ways we are already taxed. The whole system needs to be thrown out and greatly simplified; both state and federal, but it will never happen due to all the self(ish) interest involved in politics.

I too only see hope for real change in the Libertarian party. The only way I would vote republican is if Ron Paul got the nod.
