On the day of the attacks, George W Bush stood tall and proud and told the terrorists they would not win. They could not win. American freedom was precious and would be defended.
Every day I see some new freedom being removed from American people. Every day I see some new law being introduced under the anti terrorism law.
You're in danger of imploding your freedom's America. Grave danger. Step back Senators. Step back DA. Step back war mongerers and please realise, before its too late, that you are giving the terrorists EXACTLY what they want. Exactly what they want.
Step back. Slow down. Stop reacting. Make the new laws from reasoned discussion, reasoned thought and stop reacting out of fear. American's should not be afraid.
Ask the British for advice. Or the Spanish. We've dealt with terrorists for 25 years or more. Bunches of our civil liberties are gone as a result, but none are even a mere shadow compared to what your guys are proposing. I'm scared for America - not because of terrorists, but because your Senators want to do exactly what the terrorist want them to, and that is to remove your freedoms.
I think YOU need to think before YOU post Mr themassiah. You clearly have no clue as to the level of worldwide sentiment against this missile defence shield and that comes from the leaders and people alike.
You've missed the point. Hot headed irration is what the US is breeding with its continual anti everyone stance. Whether they state it or not, the US is giving the body language of a spoilt teenager with little to no respect for those around them.
Global warming doesn't exist according to Bush. The US economy will suffer if Kyoto is brought in? Ahuh. And instead the world AND the US suffers 50 years from now.
Same with this missile shield.
The US breeds hot headed irrationality by refusing to acknowledge that there IS a world out there, and there ARE other people who inhabit it who's views should also count...
Given that the US is now the only superpower, and so influential in the entire world, I think we should ALL get to vote who your president is... God knows you fucked that up too!
Sorry, I'm with the Russian on this one. Scrap the defence shield, its worthless from the threats its supposed to be protecting against and only tips the balance of power even further to the US favour.
By the way, I'm from Britain. Normally I'd be allied with the US, but I've seen it flex a little too much muscle lately an throw its overweight body around the playground too much recently... Time to settle down US, while the world is still in one piece.
Good GOD. 30 miles to the gallon is GOOD??? I hope US miles are at least 1.5 times longer than British miles.
If my car drops below 45 (including round town trips) it's taken for an immediate service cos something is violently wrong with it. And its a GM produced motor.
I'm in favour of an OSDN subscription. If it guarantees Sourceforge will still be around in a few years time, and that Slashdot will still be here. Its simple economics. Maybe some of the OSDN sites are loss leaders for VA, but sorry, I can't see it staying for much longer.
The free ride is over. Thank God, now lets get down to using useful sites, get the hell rid of those darn banners that are getting bigger and selling me more worthless crap than I care about and paying people to produce sites that frankly are often just dire to look and and contain little original content. At least if you rely on subscriptions you can guarantee that your content is worth something, or you die. Darwin rules again.:)
Anyway, point me to the page where I can subscribe to OSDN and get no banners taking up a third of my screen and I'll pay...
I have to agree with that. A system can be wide open or wide shut depending on how its setup. Its not necessarily down to specifically the OS. Besides, even if it is down to the OS, I know that if there's a remote exploit thats down to Linux (ie kernel, not an app) then Alan Cox would be on the case within minutes with a fix out shortly afterwards. I'd be happy to run my web servers on Linux.. Oh yeah, I do;-) ------------------------------------------------ -----------
I'm not sure what JVM's you've used but we've tried with little success to get any of them to work properly on Alpha's running Tru64. Mind you, I'm a bit out of it now, so I don't know what the platform is any more, but I know they were trying to use fjvm the other day and it was just seg faulting everywhere. ------------------------------------- ----------------------
