As a web developer, I don't see the wide adoption of "offline web application". Why not just create a desktop app that talks to the webapp through web services when you get back the connection?
I've looked into Dojo offline examples, but still can't think of any business scenarios around an offline web application. I guess like what the article suggested, for email and word or image processing makes sense...but then how often do we really need to implement an application like that?
I'd love to read some other ideas using offline web applications from slashdotters.
