My God, you can either donate money to people who are STARVING TO DEATH, or, you can donate money to people who need computers... Really tough choice...
I'm 17, and I don't think minors should be allowed to vote. If anything, the limit should be increased. Look at what college kids do when they close the pubs early! They riot! They riot because they're damned beer got cut off. I don't know you, but for sake of argument, I'll assume you could make an intelligent decision. (Although, do most people really make one? Or just vote for Gore because they're Democrats or vote for Bush because they're Republicans?). But, you're in the vast minority. Most people are age are IDIOTS!. Most of them are, granted, nice people, and not exactly slack-jawed yokals. But, let's face it, most people our age who would vote for Gore are just doing so because it's cool to be liberal right now. Just like 40 or 50 years ago, kids would have voted conservative because that was what the norm was. Very few people at all, let alone oh-so-cool "rebellious" "i know everything" teengers, will look at all the candidates without bias and decide which one will the do the things for American and the rest of the world. Another thing that irks me about this topic, is the inherint selfeshness of it. "What will the poloticians do for us?" (read: what's gonna keep me in this nice suburban setting, making lots of money, and not having to worry about my job like those other shmucks). Voting your pocketbook is just greed. And, blah, sorry, got to go... (blah, yeah, ok, whatever...)
Granted, I've only been reading/. for about half a year or so, but it seems to be that this just kinda started as a site for CmdrTaco and his cohorts to post stuff that they liked. Not as an industry tool or anything.
