Interesting though though. Perhaps the survey was phrased with the focus on individual performance to place the TSA as a whole in a better light. Certainly when I have flown, I have been groped/assaulted in a professional and friendly manner.
I've got news for you, while you're busy pointing at the evil, evil right wing, the usual suspects you vote for are busy implementing the same or worse.
Time to get over this red-team/blue-team bullshit or you are part of the problem.
The 200GB range drives in my main server have been trundling along for many years while I have a pile of 0.5-2TB hard drives I need to go through and get warrantied (three of them Caviar blacks). Not impressed with the big drives.
+1. Software raid also allows you more flexibility. At home, I have two drives, one much larger than the other. The first 4 partitions are mirrored and the last one on the larger drive is not. I get to use all the size of the bigger drive but have the security of RAID for important stuff. Also, one drive is IDE and one SATA.
Yes. The above tar command is really from a time when cp did not have r and p options (and still likely doesn't on some systems so it's worth knowing). OTOH, you can add in the z option (compress) if you're doing something networky (though you'll probably want to throw in netcat or ssh too in that case). Of course, if you're doing that, rsync is probably the better option if available and leads to some interesting backup options going forward.
I would suggest that it's not clear cut and could be argued either way. Which probably means that it depends on factors which would have to be identified and quantified to take the discussion any further
Many Libertarians are committed to voting third party rather than Romney. Supposedly if Paul joined with Romney, that could pull some of those votes in and help prevent a spoiler. It's all academic though.
The car loses that much value when driven off the lot through mostly psychological reasons. Same with a game. Would you buy a game from me for $45 when Walmart is selling it at the same price?
If you eliminate the used market, prices for new will have to drop to accomodate. That benefits people like me who can afford to buy a game and put it on the shelf until it can only be considered landfill-fodder and is bad for those who rely on trade-ins to finance their gaming hobby. And that, indeed is bad for the industry as a whole.
Unfortunately, the Concorde project was built "Because it's not our money". It would have been better (and possibly more successful) if it had been built more along the lines of the private space industry that's currently out there. Sure, we might have had it a bit later but right now, we don't have it at all.
In fact it turned out that one of the advantages the locals had against the British in the war of independence was their hunting rifles vs the far less accurate military grade muskets that the British army favored.
Which is fine but the main problem is that the US doesn't use reflective paint. Here in Tennessee, if it's night and it's raining, the road markings disappear. Most disconcerting.
When carrying the thing essential to the continued existence of all known life constitutes an "incident", something is definitely wrong.

2. Huh?
Tar can seek past bad data FWIW (though if you zipped, you're in trouble).

Do you wish to draw a comparison with the current office holder?

2004? If only he wasn't eligible for office again. Though that would mean we would have been through 8 years of him so maybe not.
Additionally, if the profits were that outrageous, they would soon face serious competition.
It wasn't an example, it was a rhetorical question intended to imply that games are expensive where you had claimed they weren't.

Forget customary. I think modern legal departments would require it to be called "Concorde brand flying transportation equipment"
That dolphin free tuna campaign worked a treat.
True. But bear in mind that flying at a mile higher would only add 3.14 miles to a trip the whole circumference of the earth.
Pfft, the subterranean vacuum tubes will be faster, quieter and safer. Though the view and luxury of a zeppelin will still be hard to beat.

There is no public money.

WOLVERINES!
(Had to be done)
Tell that to my electric bill this month. That's a lot of toast...
