Can tcpdump take ownership of a connection you are sniffing (for example, take control of a telnet session between two hosts, anc close the connection to one of the two host while retaining the one with th other)?
ettercap has almost nothing to do with ethereal, tcpdump or any other general-purpose sniffers. It's for a men-in-the-middle attack, with ARP poisoning and other techniques, not for simply sniffing packets that already come to your NIC.
It can sniff in a switched enviroment. You can't do this whith TCPDUMP !!!
Are you really sure of that? are you really sure YOU decide, and not the big corporations who give money for the elections of the candidates, and who OWNS the media. The media that makes you think as you think. Of course not "you", but the typical american, not really interested in politics, and easily convinced of anything.
Didn't you notice of some news missing from the media. Why do you thing Bush doesn't allow showing dead american soldiers in the TV? Is this freedom of thinking?
This is the start of the falling of today's economic system, call it capitalistic, call if corporate-centric (opposed to human-being-centric) or call it the "american" way of seeing capitalism...

Who decides that "one big USA" is better than what it is now? Maybe you americans are the judges of the truth? Fundamentalists are the ones that thinks the only truth is what they think, all others are wrong. Dangerous fundamentalists are the ones that tries to impose their view of the world through violence.
USA (or should I say Bush) is tring to impose its view of the world killing thousands of peoples. This is exactly what Bin Laden tried to do on 11th september.
I see no difference between Bin Laden way of acting and Bush's way of imposing his view to the rest of the world. If you see some, please explain me.
i succeded at using java with Oracle, (i needed to use gnome-db from an application I wrote for my thesis). The big problem was the authentication scheme: the only solution was to use the Visibroker for Java ORB, which supports Principals. The build-in sun ORB does not support it, so i can't use the ORBit cookie file for the authentication...

Governement approved? does it means that there is some sort of "anti-terrorist" backdoor to be used by the FBI?
Ehhm... "ORBit", not "Oracle"...
