    No it isn't. The vast majority of US subscribers pay for incoming SMS and calls. Hell, even unsolicited text messages sent from the carrier's website aren't free.

    Did you RTFA? Nowhere does it say that HUB Computer Solutions is in the business of selling PBX, that is simply what the summary claims.

    If he didn't know about blocking overseas calling and prohibiting outbound transfers, odds are that his company didn't create this piece of equipment.

    I don't mean to troll, this is an honest question. How on earth was a member of the Utah National Guard in Bulgaria? Even if they jerked you up to federal and you're now part of the Army National Guard of the United States, I still don't get it.

    My research on wiki and elsewhere only leads to more confusion as to the reasoning for you being overseas without a declaration of war. Please help...

    And unfortunately still do install vendor-specific setup utilities, despite adding nothing positive to the process and only yielding more confusion to the end user as to whether to a use vendor-specific or Windows solution.

    How is this insightful? Are you saying that the only tasks one can perform while the computer is booting are those done by minimum wage workers?

    What about checking your voicemail, making that run to Starbucks that you are gonna time-theft from the company anyway, actually talking to somebody, completing paperwork, etc...

    I think cases like yours are an exception to the rule. Obviously you're not a sales drone that just needs access to some web apps and an office suite. I leave mine on too, but I do turn off everyone else using psshutdown nightly

    If your system is suspended, you are most likely not at your desk, so what is the benefit of receiving an IM? IM isn't a replacement for e-mail.

    A method I use is to put an input field with a name like "subject" in a contact form and then hide it via CSS. Then if that field is populated in the form submission, the server side drops the request.

    It isn't the most accessible-friendly method in the world, but once I started doing this, all spam submissions dropped out. It's not foolproof and it's just another step in an arms race, but I agree that CAPTCHAs have gotten out of hand. They are especially confusing to people who are not tech savvy and don't know why they are trying to decipher a spirograph drawing in order to do something simple on your website.

    Just to track you in case you do something bad? Yes. Like not pay your bill.

    Your SSN is no secret. Anyone that attended a university in the early 2000s knows that many of them had to scramble to replace your student id number (SSN) with an actual student id number. Prior to that, your SSN was all over campus. It's also probably in the database of most utilities, banks and credit cards that you have used. How is this surprising that AT&T requests it?

    You gave Sprint a deposit for 7 years? I hope you got some interest on that...

    Any kind of webserver. Try running two of them on the same IP address.

    Seriously? I guess you have never heard of virtual hosting.

    Remote desktop. When troubleshooting, I can't just ask the person I'm helping to install VNC, because then I'd have to explain to them how open the port.

    If you can't provide them with a batch file that opens port 5900 for you, then stop trying to do remote support. Also remote desktop != vnc.
