    No it isn't. Microsoft spends millions (hundreds of millions probably) on useability (sp?). And useability studies show that MS software is superior. Which perhaps would explain this odd phenomenon where companies are not falling over themselves to use free software.

    Wishing for something doesn't make it true.

    And Linux is mostly just a reimplementation of Unix. That doesn't seem to bother anyone....opens source people don't have to innovate, they can just use other people's ideas. Closed source on the other hand....

    I wouldn't lose too much sleep, I bet the designers thought of that already. It's fairly safe to assume that communications security is one of the lesser technical challenges in this aircraft.

    Also, "significant amount of resources" is a very relative term when talking about military matters. ;)

    Anyways, how is avoiding casualties while fighting a war cowardly? Should you always try to have some of your own soldiers die, so you aren't considered cowardly?

    Why? Just because Microsoft is doing it does not mean we should follow along.

    Yes, those stupid fools at Microsoft, lets just ignore them and they'll go away, everyone will see the light soon now. .Net is a silly idea anyways, it's no good for anything, if it was, the open source community would have thought of it. The only thing I can't figure out is, how does Microsoft get so many people to give them money when all they give them in return is buggy software that is almost useless. Strange.....

    1) They're switching from Applix, not MS Office. 2) re: easier to deal with, has fewer bugs, is cheaper, and sucks less in general. Except for the cheaper part, you are describing StarOffice and Applix, not MS Office.
