I've actually always been suspicious of this. I've never run my domain name through a WHOIS service, but simply entered it in my browser's address bar (though I guess it's possible this isn't "safe" either) to see if it was owned or not.
gOS... hmm. Yeah, I guess Google is beating itself over the head for not releasing a Google OS/copyrighting the name... It looks like some unknown company has beaten Google to it's own OS. There's no need for a Google OS anymore! This could be big.
Unless, of course, Google goes against the grain starts an operating system from scratch, and doesn't simply tag a Linux distro with the "Google" name and call it "gLinux".
Well, congrats to Everex. They had a good idea, beat out Google, and are selling it at Wal*Fart, for goodness sakes.
I'm a Linux-only user. According to Secunia, for unpatched vulnerabilities:
Windows Vista: 2 of 10; most severe being Not Critical.
Windows XP Home Edition: 27 of 170; most severe being Highly Critical.
Linux Kernel 2.6.x: 16 of 123; most severe being Moderately Critical.

Ever notice on a fresh install of FF that there's no "New Tab" button? People might know of tabs more if they knew where to open a new one...
