Heh, bending over and taking it is unfortunately standard operation procedure, at least for most gamers I know.
Just you wait, eventually we'll have a system where you purchase 100 frags, and any kills thereafter won't be added to your score.
And we'll have a nice old arcade revisit, after dying the n:th time "Insert credit(s)" will be flashing on our screens.
That's the way it should work, yes. The market dealing with it.
However, I have a feeling that if some games show a loss of sales this won't be blamed, at least not at first. I mean, it's so much more convenient to blame piracy than a moronic business move.
A similar thing did happen to me once. I was paying for a pair of pants and gave the chick behind the counter a 500 (Swedish money, not dollars). The pants cost 149 crowns, but the girl returned only 51 crowns to me. I'm not sure what she was thinking, since we don't have 200 crown bills... In any event, I tell her that she shortchanged me and she gives me 400 crowns before turning away. Ordinarily I would've told her about her second mistake, but she'd been a first class bitch since I entered the store I chose not to.
Had she at least been polite I would've given her a 100 back. I suppose the moral is that if you're poor at math and an asshole to boot, don't work at a register.
Best be careful. Puns such as this could become a CATalyst and ignite a stream of less than purrfect replies, rendering the majority of the readers CATatonic.
