  1. Re:Examples please on Translucent PC Cases · · Score: 1

Let's get one thing straight, I LOVE my Mac and the OSX servers that we run on B&W G3's. IBM's Netfinity (stupid name) PC servers are pretty cool. Swap out mother boards and other devices real easy. Take a look at them sometime....

The only thing I don't like about the BW G3's is the fact that ribbon cables run under a pannel and are a pain to remove. We stripped all of our BW G3's for the hell of it before we put them into action and that was the only bad thing we could find

  2. It's a start.... on Translucent PC Cases · · Score: 1

but thay are still shitty ATX cases covered in neato plastic. ONLY the new G3's and iMac's have truly inovative case designs when it comes to form factor and accesabilty. NO PC case even comes close to the ease of use of the B&W G3 case.

You know what, it wouldn't take much more then someone other then a coke bottle geek to design a good a case. Apple did it.... again. You can not argue with the sales figures.

  3. REPUBLICANS RULE! on Gingrich: No taxes on e-commerce, T1s for all · · Score: 1

Bill Clinton escalated the War on Drugs. Nancy just said "Just say no"

Ken Star was apointed by Democrats and kept in business by Miss. Janet Reno, a lacky of Mr. Clinton.

To hell with those countries. Besides, for most of that time, the democrats were in control.

Now, lets talk about running our lives....

Over taxation. Gun control. Tipper Gore and her anti rappin'

Sure, both sides have their faults, but I think the Republicans are more sincere, more honest and I doubt that Bob Dole would be sending us to war or selling our national security to China right now...

  4. Why NOT tax e-commerce? on Gingrich: No taxes on e-commerce, T1s for all · · Score: 1

e-comerce is NO different then calling up and ordering from a catalog. The vendors pay taxes and the manufacturers pay taxes. They pay taxes to ship it.We all pay for those in the end.

They should actually offer tax breaks for e-comerce.

A website is just another way to show your product. Taxing it is just another way for the Libs to tax us to death.

At least it's a start. I agree that the APSL is not as open or free, but it's a start. People always said Apple was dead. They were wrong. People said that Apple would never open up their proprietary code. They did. What's next?

Yea, but the internet is still run by super smart people like yourself. You were a dumb ass on computers at one time. We all were. We may not have called tech support as much as some folks, but it took time to learn.

People need to understand that the "lowest common denominator" is the majority in this world. (just look at who's in the White House and who put him there and the dominant os in the world)

You can not afford to alienate the majority, becasue they have lots of money to blow. If there weren't services like imacfloppy.com or books like PC's for Dummies then there would be fewer people using computers and fewer people for us to make money off of. Ignore imacfloppy.com, it's really easy.

Besides, just goes to show how out of touch and how little most of you actually know about the iMac. This service was annonced last year just after the iMac was unvailed. Get out of the house once in a while and learn somthing after Jr. High classes are done with.

  12. Double edged sword. on Cooler Cases · · Score: 1

Take a look at the specs on the new G3 EVERYTHING except for the ADB port in the back is industry standard. The RAM, the ZIFF socket, hard drives are UDMA, USB, firewire. The monitor port is even standard VGA!! These things rock. Apple is getting it right. They can use standard parts, but they don't have to use the cheapest POS like everyone else.

  13. They still look like crap on Cooler Cases · · Score: 1

Whe will they get it!?!? Putting ANOTHER piece of plastic on a standard sheet metal AT/ATX case doesn't make it "cool"

Someone needs to make a high quality case of out quality materials that isn't just a piece of plastic hot glued to the side of a BOX.

Oh wait some one did! Apple!! Imagine that...

That new G3 case puts anything else to shame. It has easier access then anything else on the market (beer box guy not included :), even you geeks who leave the cover off of your computer case.

I'll give a site like this colorcase place a second look when they do somthing new.

  14. The real problem.. on Response to John Carmack's Comments About Macs · · Score: 1

You one button mouse guys are dumb as hell. Mac users aren't stuck to what came in the box. Incase you haven't looked at a Mac in the past 10 years (which I bet includes about 60% of you) you can remove the mouse and remove parts.

You can get a 2 button mouse if you choose to do so. The "average" consumer could care less and is probably happy with one mouse. People (like myself) who want to use a two or five button mouse can do so. I'm playing with Linux and can't wait to get my hands on OSX. It's sure to beat the hell out of the current MacOS.

It's a shame though that my crappy low-level OS can run circles around WinANYTHING as far as functionality and productivity go. Hmmm....
