I feel sorry for the Grid Iron player. A national game! Could be a mind f**k for the players, coaches, fans, owners, etc.:) How will the game be changed? If the length of the field is increased to 100 metres, then they will have to run approximately 28 feet more for a touch down, which equates to an extra 2 feet 4 inches for a down. If the field length remains at 100 yards - approximately 91.5 metres, do you keep 10 downs of 9.15 metres to get from one end to the other, or do you have 9.15 downs of 10 metres? The latter looks like a problem for a keen observer to solve. Would the stadiums have to be rebuilt to allow the increase in length to 100 metres? And what about the statisticians - how will they cope with any measure based on distance?
