I've noticed this trend, and I just want to know if anyone out there agrees with me:
Parents are looking for something to blame kids violence on.
That said, I don't consider violent games the problem, or even violent movies the problem. I consider the problem the fact that parents are not spending enough time with their kids. Parents want to plop their child in front of a computer or T.V. and forgot about it. If parents are so worried, why don't they spend some time with their child instead of letting him play those games and watch those movies? I've played violent games all my life, I even played games called demonic like AD&D. However, my father spent a lot of time with me, and those games were exactly what they were meant to be, games. I didn't look up to them as parenting figures. The only thing that came out of my time playing MUDS and other stuff like that was I learned a lot about computers.
I don't know if this was previously suggested in a post as I only scanned them, but here goes my spin on things. Why don't we try to play the idiot? I know this goes against MANY peoples grain, but hear me out. When the windows version comes out in stores, send Unreal Tech support an E-Mail asking how you get the full version for Linux. Most tech support shops gather information about commonly asked questions, With enough submittions, this would end up there. THEN, when they say to download the linux port, and purchase the windows version, send in the registration card and mention your run Linux on it. Already it is going to appear in at least TWO managers hands, one from tech support, the other from product registration. The downloads will also appear in yet another managers reports. I can understand there not being enough market value to shipping out Unreal, however, I don't see as it would cost them more than they would make to offer a linux bundle on CD from their website. Any comments or added suggestions on this would be GREAT, as I plan on doing this.
I'm sitting here contemplating this. With AMD and Intel fighting so much to get faster chips, how quickly will we see this process being used in the chips? Think about it, everyone started to feel that familiar warm fealing when they introduced.18 micron design, now we can do that on a molecular scale! I never thought I would feal my P3-550 was so SLOW! Whatever happened to jumping on a BBS with your good ol 2400 baud modem on your 386 machine? LONG LIVE FIDO!
I can't believe my eyes. Is it just me, or is go.com not responding?!?!?!?! I get a DNS error when trying to go to it. Slashdot, guys, if you can take down a big sight like go.com with your wave of people, I feel sorry for little guys you post =P
Check out this site: www.ktel.com They have been doing this for a LONG TIME! I know of this because I work for a company that was about to sign with K-Tel to offer their CD database on our site. I do not think this will hold up against the lawsuite K-Tel is most likely going to throw at CDNow.

Well, enough rambling, that's my two cents.

Well, it was apparently an issue with our up-pipe ISP. We had several problems for a while there with going anywhere :)

Big names and Linux are coming together more and more lately. I like this trend. Now if only Dynamix would port Starsiege Tribes over....
I rather enjoyed Diablo, I wish they hadn't delayed things, however, it DOES create less times I have to boot into windows....
