  1. e-book on e-paper? on The Satori Effect · · Score: 1

I read something somewhere about how someone was making somekind of e-paper. It was made out of lots of tiny bits with black on one side and white on the other that could be flipped electronicly.

The example used was actualy a Uber-book that could become any book, althouth they said a more practical usage might be for re-usable storefront signs.

As I see it, fine print could be put to good use if someone published thesis's online for FREE. The fact that someone is trying to make money of ones work is what I see people getting mad about.

    Peace.

I don't mean to start a flame, but I see in the artical that he "advocated" a faster means of communication for the internet. To tell the truth though, I didn't realize he had been that envolved. From the clip I saw where he said that, I was under the impression that he was on "such and such" committie which had some vauge connection to the start of the internet.

but for the most part just ignore me, I've got a bad case of verbal diahrea. ;)

    funny.

but is comprehension possible by putting actual decent AI behind a sentance parser (type program).

  6. AI bot learn by itself on the net? on Ask Jordan Pollack About AI - Or Anything Else · · Score: 1

If you were trying to get an AI bot to learn English (being the dominant net language) could you use the Internet as a resource to learn on?

If you had some system of determining the value (accurateness, trustworthiness...) of each document come across and also had hardwired some basic English definitions into it, would you have a reasonable chance of creating comprehension?

As a more brief question, do you think that this (or any) type of program could become anything more than frequency counters. Is actual comprehension feasible through just providing it with a HUGE resource to sift though?

I see what you mean, but can the Gov. restrain you from going to a certin grocery store? Tell you never to make a call to france? And then how about: never post on a certin USENET group?

It seems a lot like something fishy going on.

I'm not so sure about usenet, but the internet isn't a U.S. thing, its international, belonging to no one specificly. If the Gov. doesn't/can't control the internet, what right does it have to interfere with usenet?
