  1. Boot? Why? on Making Linux Booting Pretty · · Score: 1

One of the main reasons I use Linux is so that I do not need to reboot. The last time I rebooted was for the 2.2.18 kernel, and the time before that was because I moved to Champaign. The bootup screen does not need to be ``pretty'' for me, but rather all those diagnostics are much more useful, since I can then find out if I forgot to plug in something.

  2. Re:why a mouse on What GUIs Came Before X11? · · Score: 1

My keyboard has a mini-joystick thing in the upper right-hand corner, kind of like the IBM thing, but much larger. It takes some time to be able to actually use it, but now I don't like mice that much in comparison to it (except for in Quake). I can type and use it at the same time, since it is placed in exactly the right place for my pinky finger while I am typing. The keyboard itself is kind of wierd too. It has a laptop keyboard layout, and it is wireless. It is called the LiteOn SK-7100, and it is black with some gray shades, looks really nice. The reciever works from all across the room, which is really nice. It uses 4 AA batteries, which last roughly 4 months.
