I memorized pi to 250 digits because I thought it would be a cool bar trick. When I'm really drunk I try and recite it. Unfortunately last time I did this the bartender doubled me and recited it to 500!
If it makes ya feel any better my OpenGL programming class at Kansas State University requires we use OpenGL, Linux, and the g++ compiler. This is the first class I've encountered that doesn't give me the choice of working in whatever environment I want. Fortunately our university decided it was easier to teach all driver and OS classes as well as this graphics class in Linux.
Hey at least he made the effort to write a story and get info on the wire. Most of these guys are unpaid. Give them a little slack. Also if you figure in how long it would take to get a response most stories would be 4 days old if they did that.
