There are already agreements where you can dial an ISP from one country in another. GRIC do a system like this. I am in Denmark right now and dialling a local number to access my mail on my ISP in the UK.

Don't have a RadioShack Europe?! What about Tandy? That's the uk arm of RS.

Why are keyboards such a problem? I am using a Danish one right here, and I use a different one again when in Belgium..

Go to any supermarket. There are named brands. The supermarket generally has their own products which are sold at a lower price right next to the 'genuine' product. The 'genuine' product manufacturers have spent a great deal of R&D & Marketing to get the product look & feel, packaging etc. The supermarkets just rip their designs off and sell products with names or packaging which is very very similar.

The net isn't special, it's just an extension of real life. If it happens in real life, chances are it will happen on the net.

If the guys at /. are sooo pissed off about it then put a bit of javascript or whatever to break out of the frame.

Pretty nerdy book actually. I read it on my honeymoon a couple of weeks ago.

The Lycos article says.. "Security experts said the virus is the first to hit mobile phones, although they emphasized that the worm is propagated by computer and not via the telephone system. They also said the attack is relatively benign, as it does not destroy computer files but merely delivers a message disparaging the Spanish telephone company Telefonica. " But the MSNBC article says.. "The virus has a nasty payload, as well -- it attempts to delete all files on the victim's hard drive and performs several other operations that makes restoration difficult. " Who's right? Al.

It will be for us in the UK. Apparently the DVD software on the US/UK version is not on a memory card like the JAP incarnation, but in the PS2 itself. This may make it a bit trickier to play disks from regions other than the one the PS2 was designed to play for. Like I say, probably not a problem for you guys over the pond as you get most releases first on region 1, whereas we usually get late, sub-standard transfers with chuff-all extras. Its getting better, but there are still plenty of DVDs which aren't available on region 2. Having said that, it'll be hackable in time I'm sure! Al.
