The situation here is this: Apple will benefits from unlocking phones sales, but can't goes outside telling everybody unlock your phone while having a contract with AT&T, Apple is helping AT&T with this* problem because it really can't betray it.
But Apple is just dying to see more unlocked iphones run out the store.
