    Good points, but market pressure only works if there's a free market. Local monopolies and government regulations could prevent the flocking of customers to a non-filtering provider.

    Except for those of us in more remote locations (for me, Alaska). And besides, I imagine the FCC would probably step in and put a stop to that, likely in the name of 'protecting children.'

    ...but solar doesn't exactly do much for those of us in Alaska or other high latitudes, particularly in winter, when the sunlight is least (Like Barrow's month of darkness), and energy demands are highest, thanks to heating needs.

    ...that part of the reason for this is that National Security Letters were used to help obtain compliance from these corporations. The NSLs' built-in gag orders means that the companies cannot mention them in their legal defense; thus, seeking immunity so as to avoid being stuck without any defense (except to explain what happened, then go to federal prison for violating NSL gag orders).
