Meanwhile, at the time of the bidding for the funding, Westinghouse was working with an actual investor interested in potentially building their project. Somehow, the company with a business plan didn't get selected for the funding... Well done DOE.
I definitely agree. Kallocain was amazing. I speak swedish, but a friend of mine picked up an english copy for my birthday one year in college, because she saw the author was swedish. One of the best books I had read at the time.
Are you serious? This is news now? Where has the author been for the past,oh let's say, 5+ years? The nuclear renaissance has been in full swing for a while. The NRC and nuclear companies are hiring like crazy. New nuclear engineering programs are starting up all over the place.
From my understanding, they did not call up the police station to get an officer to arrest the student.
They initially had a Hall Monitor/Security type interacting with the student, and when she would not cooperate, an in-school police officer was called on for further assistance.
A minor point, but a difference nonetheless.
A couple things I forgot to mention: 1) IAESTE does international internships for all technical majors (engineering, IT, biology, etc.) 2) IAESTE takes care of a visa, so any company participating thru this would not need to worry about that aspect (also, if you find your own internship, but need help getting a visa, IAESTE can help with that as well). 3) IAESTE also helps with finding housing, social events, etc.
you could try to get an internship through an international organization called IAESTE. They have organizations set up in over 80 countries around the world to do internships abroad. Go to www.iaeste.org (or more specifically http://www.iaeste.org/network/index.html ) and choose your country of residence to see if your country has a chapter. If they do, you should be able to provide you with the necessary information about applying for an internship through them. You can also get information thru the IAESTE-US website: http://www.iaesteunitedstates.org/
