If they're going take away stupid crap like nail files and 1" pocket knives, they're not going to allow everyone to carry on devices that pose a serious risk to the plane. If the use of these devices were a serious threat they wouldn't leave it up to us to turn them off. They would take them away.
So the question is, what, exactly, IS the big deal? And more importantly, why don't they shield/redesign/fix the problem so as to not inconvenience the bulk of the 21st century population that are walking around with wireless devices??!?!?!
It's either a threat or it isn't. If it is, take the damn things out of everyone's hands because there are a lot of dangerous people, a lot of stupid people, and a lot of malicious people out there and I don't want my plane to crash because of them. If it isn't a threat, then shut the heck up.
