People don't save because all they know is to consume. The American culture is built around debt and consumption.
We are at the first point in history since 1945 where Americans have more debt than equity. I don't care if HSBC gives you 10% for your online savings account, the consumer will spend his money like there's no tomorrow.
I know this is not the forum for investing, but does anyone else see Sirius and XM being really attractive right now? We're on the verge of having FCC's blessing and SIRI is trading at $2.99? The merger is the only way that both companies can stay alive and make a profit, and they just got the govt's OK to go through with it. I think this is a clear winner.
Just my $0.02.
If there was any real competition in the telecom field, we wouldn't have this problem. I can't believe some paying $50/month for service and THEY are being told what to do. It's disgusting how much monopolistic slime they pour on us.
Whatever happened to fighting to win over the customer? All we need is 6 or 7 comparable broadband suppliers within the same area and they would be dying for us to use any of their bandwidth for half the price; and they would be rushing to upgrade the infrastructure to accommodate more users. All they do now is cut costs and squeeze profits.
You will not see this problem here in NYC or any other metropolitan area. As soon as Time Warner tries to pull sh*t like that, I will be signing a new contract the next day. Until there are competitive pressures, these types of problems will keep on getting worse and worse.
I'm sorry, am I missing the point of Facebook, or is it a PUBLIC SOCIAL NETWORKING site?
If you have a problem with your drunk pictures making it to your boss's desk, or you'd rather keep your sexual orientation to yourself, then don't put it out there for the whole world to see. Simple as that.
Sure there are "privacy settings", but come on we all know it'll get out there eventually through friends and links. That's just being realistic.
A large percentage of Mustang buyers comes from loyal Ford fans; families who for generations owned a Mustang and kids that dreamt of racing one since childhood. It is for these reasons that the Mustang brand stands out and retains its popularity. This is also why Ford should really consider the opportunity costs which exist from not receiving royalties for images of its logo, while reaping the benefits of Mustang clubs, mustang message boards and everything else imaginable. These collectives are breeding future Mustang drivers.
Just think about the senior parking lot when you were in high school...

Good, now we'll finally use those little barf-bags on the back of airline passenger seats.
