because verily nobody is stupid enough to buy something they can download legally! Right? Right!? I mean come on, people don't even buy stuff they can download illegally anymore...
True, except things like this have a habit of gaining legitimacy in the "mainstream" when you're allowed to pay for them.
Unfortunately, $20 isn't enough. People will think it's a 2nd rate product since the cost is so much lower than Windows.
From the status update thread...
"Today at approximately 5:45 p.m., a transformer in our H1 data center in Houston caught fire, thus requiring us to take down all generators as instructed by the fire department. All servers are down."
I read this as the fire department ordering them to kill *all* the power for safety reasons, rather than the explosion knocking the whole thing out.
You m ean like... hit Windows+R and type the name of your program, hit enter? That's what I do on WinXP. (That's actually serious question - is what you describe any different from that?) Different...
Windows key, start typing, and the menu will slowly filter down to only display items that match what you've typed. Enter will select the best match.
This was sluggish at first, but once more parts of the computer were indexed, it worked a lot better.
Just an FYI, I'm running 64-bit Ultimate on an Asus board with 4GB of ram and a quad-core CPU. The only downtime I've had since conception (early December) was rebooting for some of the updates.
The biggest problem with what you posted is the assumption that being right in the past (about how/when/what to launch as a new business) inherently makes your future opinions more likely to be right.
