So, eating invasive species may not be the most successful way of getting rid of them...
Choose the management option and keep yourself active in tech domains (opposite option is not doable).
If the management opportunity you are offered is in R&D, this is easy.
Beware: in hardtimes (crises, etc.), the ones that survive best are experts in their domains (either good managers or good technicians).
