Choice in FOSS means that you can choose to use one of the many other distros if you don't like how a given distro is running things. It doesn't mean that every distro or project must provide every conceivable option.

They're open source... why would they be distributed as a binary blob?
The 9400m is not a discrete graphics card. The only Mac laptop you can't get without discrete graphics is the MBP 17".
WINE is not an emulator.
ARM doesn't actually ship or make CPUs, they license IP cores. There are a whole shit ton of ARM cores out there, though.
