Wouldn't asteroids and space dust pose a threat to the solar sails? On a long enough journey, the combined damage of thousands of tiny impacts could tear the sails to pieces.
From reading the FAQ, it doesn't look like the vehicles will be fighting against each-other, looks more like they'll be racing to complete various challenges (obstacle course, etc.) No mecha-style battles here I'm afraid. More like robotica with people in the giant machines, but without the final fight.
Rogers cable is providing the same quick response and service for the changeover. I don't use their email anyway, but good to see that they're being proactive.
