Even cooler than being green, is the ability to avoid questionable forays into the affairs of foreign countries - all to quash "terrorism" - or at least inasmuch at it impedes the flow of oil.
Green is nice. Preserving polar ice caps is nice. But, keeping young men and women in uniform out of harm's way seems well worth the initial inefficiencies of electric engine technology. Maybe we can spend half-a-trillion dollars on improving such inefficiencies, rather than on bullets.
