So just because 90% of ppl have more horsepower in their boxes than they know what to do with it means that programmers can be lax in optimization? I don't think so. Look at what resourseful programmers have achieved on the Amiga: Quake springs to mind straight away. Playable on a CPU which is substantially slower than the current generation of Wintel CPUs? You better believe it!
