  1. diamond age on The Law And Nanotechnology · · Score: 2, Insightful

an interesting thought about nanotechnology is being able to use it to feed everyone from suplies as simple as seawater. One thing that would prevent Grey-Goo is the massive amounts of energy required to produce nanotech machines and the fact that no-one has developed a self-replicating machine outside of theory. Neal Stephenson did a good book on nanotechnology called The Diamond Age.

you had better not talk about large multi-national corporations, or peacefully show your objection to them in a manner of speech that is protected by the first ammendment. Or the nice police will show you their fancy equipment that you bought with your tax dollars. oh well.

And then who would have said that he had to leave right then? I mean it's Estella Warren! Did marky marks balls get turned to pudding during the wreck? At the very least I would have spent a week there.

music isn't about what's popular or not. whether you buy it because it isn't popular or not. If you genuinly enjoy boy bands, great, there's a lot of them. However, if you have N'SYNC, Tool, Staind, and M then I will begin to wonder if you listen to what you like or what the music industry says you like. Then on the other if you buy music because noones heard of it it's kind of the "I'm not doing it just because you told me to" attitude. So I say listen to what you like, look in the underground and fuck what other people think about it.

That does make sense. the idea of god is illogical in itself. its a self perpetuating idea similar to a virus. that's a gross oversimplification but for a good book about this stuff see "the biology of belief".

  6. Re:Immortality on Ask Internet Icon Alex Chiu · · Score: 1

Why is it that everyone assumes god exists at all? You get mad at people assuming god is this or that and then you don't see yourself assuming that he exists at all.

I wonder what Frued would have to say about all this. Maybe these kids couldn't get laid and were really pissed off. I guess Kip had a girl who was playing with his head, and maybe Columbine girls only went for the jocks? Maybe we should start a national campaign to get nerds laid. I'd go for it.

;Tell 'em what else they could have gotten Well for starters it did have a DVD player, nice. It also had the capability to be a digital VCR with its 10gb harddrive. The L600 also had its own ethernet connection, network gaming anyone? I think the hardware made it worth the price. Then the open source developing, come on, I mean who could pass up the chance to use that 600mhz processor to make pong! I wouldn't have passed it up.

  9. backlash on Forced Into Spamming By Your Employer? · · Score: 1

Tell your employers that potential backlash from people flooding your servers with their own spam is potentially very expensive. Also I'm not sure of the legallity of this form of spam so lie and tell your employees they will get sued. that'll scare 'em enough.
