    Maybe you missed the part where nearly every iPhone update has tried to block the jailbreak?

    Oh, shush. They're obliged to do so by their agreement with AT&T - and they aren't trying very hard, because a new iPhone can still be unlocked in about 5 minutes.

    I really hope that this isn't truly a "new" discovery

    This guy did it in the 80s, and wrote an undergraduate text about it (well with traffic shock waves as a minor part) released 1994.

    Are you? Did you never hear of wires? It's not that hard to buy your power off someone in Arizona (if you're on the same continent).

    I have some teachers that would love this - "OK kids, go to youtube, steal an idea and make it. I'll be in the chemistry cupboard.
